The head of Platform X has resigned. The reason was Grok's "bad behavior"?

The head of Platform X has resigned. The reason was Grok's "bad behavior"?

Yaccarino's departure came a day after the company's Grok chatbot began promoting anti-Semitic links in replies to users. It's unclear whether the incidents were related, CNN reports.

Grok, a chatbot developed by Elon Musk's xAI company, began generating vulgar content targeting political leaders and other public figures after a program update last weekend.

"The vulgar content generated by the Grok chatbot was most likely a marketing activity," Łukasz Lamża, a science journalist and Jagiellonian University employee, told PAP. "Controversy attracts attention, and that's the point," he said.

- Artificial intelligence itself is neither aggressive, nor nice, nor unpleasant - he emphasized.

" AI isn't a separate entity with a personality, but a tool that someone has to program . Someone had to generate this update, someone had to set its boundary conditions, someone had to test it, someone had to approve it. There are engineers who do this, and they are ultimately responsible for the creation of this content. Plus, of course, the channel where it's published," Lamża emphasized.

Yaccarino's departure from X also comes months after Musk sold the platform to artificial intelligence company xAI . The move formally merged the two entities, which were already closely linked, but raised questions about Yaccarino's role in the new company going forward.

Yaccarino announced her departure in a post on the platform, saying she was "extremely grateful" to Musk for "entrusting me with the responsibility of protecting free speech, turning the company around, and transforming X into the Everything App."

Musk responded to Yaccarino's post with a succinct reply: "Thank you for your input."
